We're driven by faith

We are not afraid to ask for the impossible. We're driven by the opportunity to take bold steps of Faith which give God the opportunity to do only what He can do. We believe Faith is the key to seeing God do the impossible. (Hebrews 11:6) (2 Corinthians 5:7) (Matthew 21:21-22)

We love like Jesus

Jesus was all about people. Jesus loved people before coming to earth. (Philippians 2:6-7) Jesus loved people on earth. (Matthew 20:28) Amazingly, Jesus will love people even after the world ends. (Luke 12:37) Our impact will only be as great as the impact we have on others.

(1 Corinthians 13:4-8) (1 John 3:16-18) (1 John 4:8) (Matthew 22:37-39) (1 Corinthians 13:3)

We train to work

In order to lead people to Christ, it's going to take work we must prepare ourselves for. We believe God looks for anyone willing to work for Him. Thus we study and we train so that God will send us out to lead others to Christ. (Matthew 9:37-38) (2 Timothy 3:16-17) (2 Chronicles 16:9)

We live in worship

Worship is not a thing that we do, it is a way we live. We are forever mindful that Jesus gave His life for us. Thus we will never settle for "good enough". In whatever we do, we will give everything we have to God because Jesus gave it all to us. (Colossians 3:23) (Romans 12:1-2) (John 4:23)

Vision is a Matthew 25 Church

We have moved (turned the ship) toward helping the poor. Because of our location and connections, we have chosen to do this in our local community, Mexico, Ethiopia as well as jails and prisons. We also are fortunate to have an on-sight ministry to help people with addiction recovery. Every month, we designate a portion of our regular giving to these. We believe that as God has given us the command to give generously as individuals, the church should corporately slice off a significant chunk to help others outside of our immediate organization and so we joyfully do so. We also do special fund raisers, create awareness, organize trips and create and/or support established ministries even to the point of diverting our weekend services to some of these.

This includes:

Vision is a Pay It Backward Church

We have said from the beginning (2011), that we realize and joyfully embrace the responsibility to reach emerging generations (or else just get old and fade away). In 2015, we began an aggressive effort to “create irresistible environments for kids” and called it VTOWN, (which we later learned was slang for something and changed to VIZTOWN.) From the beginning, we drew out the plan, predicted it would take about $100K, campaigned to raise money and in January 2018, we will be starting the final phase. Questions may arise today – why are we spending so much out front? We are happily following through on a plan that began 2 years ago, which we still believe in. The playgrounds, extended outdoor café, lawns and trees will encourage people to stay and build relationships after church and at outdoor events…especially young adults with little ones – but for everyone! Along with this original goal, we now want to create a solid virtue (code) within Vision that everyone should aspire to become mature and equipped so we can help others who are coming along behind us. PAY IT BACKWARD is a refining attribute that has grown from the original desire to reach and help the emerging generations see who Jesus really is. This calls every Vision member to GIVE faithfully to God, SERVE on a team or in a ministry, and personally GROW spiritually so we can confidently, effectively share God’s love, grace and truth with anyone.

Vision is a Gray2Red Church

We recognize that receiving Salvation and the Holy Spirit is a beginning point and there is still much to do to become equipped. Many ministries equate Salvation with immediate, complete (magical?) physical and psychological restoration. We don’t. We believe that by receiving the power of the Holy Spirit, we can be restored, but there is (usually very uncomfortable) work to do for many of us that will require tough self- examination, counseling, professional therapy, as well as study and prayer. Most of us come to Christ damaged – some extensively with depression, PTSD, debilitating baggage, etc. and God will restore us, but most will need to be willing to allow Him in to cleanse the wounds, maybe break and reset the bones. It’s painful, fearful and goes where most of us do not want to go! GRAY symbolizes something lifeless. Red represents something full of life. GRAY2RED is the process that brings God’s life-giving blood and oxygen back into dead areas of our life. Vision is not yet fully set up for this, but we will be someday and we truly believe it is a very real and wide-spread challenge that most ministries have not discovered or will not face. We will.
